Happy Worms

for bountiful gardens.

ABOUT US

Our goal is to promote the healthy hobbies of vermicomposting and gardening using the perfect worm composting starter kit. Worm composting is the proverbial win-win situation that gives you a convenient way to dispose of unwanted food waste and provides you happy worms which then produce the best organic fertilizer–or as gardeners say, “BLACK GOLD” for your garden. We are pro-mother-earth. We believe in sustainability and giving back to the planet. We approach life with intention and peace.

Easy Worm Bin Setup

step1

STEP 1. PICK LOCATION

Select a shady area for your worm bin such as in your kitchen or a shady spot on your condo lanai. Ensure your bin has holes for air circulation.

step2

STEP 2. ADD BEDDING

Add 4-6 inches of moist bedding made from coconut coir and shredded brown cardboard or shredded paper products (not bleached/colored).

step3

STEP 3. ADD WORMS

Add worms to the bin including the bedding they were packed in. The worms will slowly work their way down to the bottom where it's nice and dark.

step4

STEP 4. ADD FOOD WASTE

Feed chopped-up fruit and vegetable waste, coffee grounds, and grains in moderation such as rice, bread, cereal, and pasta.

*Save food scraps in a container in the fridge/freezer and feed once a week.

step5

STEP 5. ADD CARBON

Cover the food waste completely with a layer of carbon rich materials such as shredded paper, newspaper, cardboard, dried leaves, or wood chips.

step6

STEP 6. COVER BIN

Top the bin with a bin blanket of shadecloth. Cover with the plastic bin lid to keep it even more dark and cozy (optional).
